TIME TO SHINE: If you’re 40 or over and have hidden talents, Jan Morris is waiting to add your name to the list of mature performers in the 69th City of Tamworth Eisteddfod. Photo: Geoff O’Neill 210416GOE01CALLING all people 40 years and over with hidden talent. This is your moment to step into the spotlight.
Don’t hide your light under a bushel; let it shine for everyone to see by taking part in the 69th City of Tamworth Eisteddfod.
That’s the advice of Eisteddfod Society speech and drama and mature performers convenor Jan Morris.
“Lots of people are talented in some way or another, but often they don’t let anyone know,” Ms Morris said.
“Perhaps you or someone you know sings in the shower, dances around the kitchen, or plays air guitar like a demon.
“You might like to recite poetry or tell yarns. That’s what we’re looking to include in our mature performers section of this year’s eisteddfod.”
Whether you’re a longtime Tamworth district resident or new to the area, becoming involved in the local eisteddfod is a great way to connect with your community.
“It can also be a ton of fun, and you could end up winning some money for your efforts,” Ms Morris said.
Although the event doesn’t begin until June 7, concluding on June 24, the deadline for entries is looming.
“April 29 is the cut-off date for anyone wishing to enter,” Ms Morris said.
There are any number of ways you can be a part of the eisteddfod – by playing a musical instrument alone, in a duo or with a group, or by singing, dancing or reciting poetry.
For entry details, visit the website, 梧桐夜网tamwortheisteddfod.org419论坛 or the society’s Facebook page, Tamworth Eisteddfod 2016.
Alternatively, phone Jan Morris on 6765 9478.
